Northwest Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital valuably offers comprehensive spay and neuter surgeries while administering anesthesia and analgesics. Specifically, we perform:
Canine Spays
Safely spaying your female dog, we:
- Perform a pre-anesthetic blood profile, to ensure proper health for the surgery (if one has not been done within the prior six weeks)
- Use the safest anesthetics for pre-operative sedation and pre-emptive pain control, including a gas-inhalant anesthesia via an endotracheal tube
- Place an intravenous (IV) catheter to deliver IV fluids during the surgery, maintaining safe blood pressure and medicinal access
- Inject narcotics before (and after, if necessary) and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) after the surgery, to completely control pain
- Maintain total sterility, as our doctors draw on extensive training in a specialized surgical suite wearing a sterile cap, mask, gown, and gloves similar to human surgeon attire
- Fully monitor the effects of the anesthesia on blood pressure, blood oxygenation (SpO2), heart rate, respiration, temperature, electrocardiography (ECG), and other parameters
- Provide a four-day supply of oral NSAID pain contro,l to take home for post-surgery comfort
- Conduct followup exams related to surgery at no cost
